BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF AIMS AND CONTENT

This module explores the major themes and debates concerning the relationship between human rights, conflict, and development in a globalized world. Students will be introduced to basic ideas, concepts, and theories of human rights; strategies and institutional mechanisms for protecting human rights; and critical issues and debates, particularly those concerning the human rights - development – peace building interface.
