Management and Leadership

This is an introductory module in the first year of MBA. This module provides an overview of management process and its functions. It also introduces the leadership patterns, styles and approaches. With this module students shall be able to understand the meaning and concept of management in the contemporary business world, management process that encompassing planning, organising, staffing , leading and controlling. it attempts to make students learn the functions of management as related to human resource management, marketing management, operations management, financial management and information management. In the second part of the module delivery students are exposed to leadership and management contrast, traits of an effective leader, leadership styles besides exploring the management context and relevance in Rwanda and how the leadership profiles can be traced and pruned for the effective functioning of organisations in Rwanda.
