The module aims at equipping the students with strong knowledge on liquid and solid waste from their generation, treatment and disposal. On international conventions related with waste handling and treatment as well as on national laws and regulations in place on the subject matter. The waste treatment starting by the handling of wastes and their by-products, their environmental effects, the hierarchy of waste management, the design and construction of sanitary landfill. It further covers the natural treatment of wastewater by ponds system as natural treatment option.
