SES6111: Research Methods in Social Sciences

The module presents different epistemological perspectives and the methodologies linked to the different approaches. It shows how research questions are chosen and formulated, and demonstrates the role of theory in guiding and directing the research process. Equally, the module addresses major ways of formulating the research problem, design of surveys, sampling process, methods of data collection and getting data ready for analysis. More critically, it focuses on the best way of presentation and dissemination of research findings and how to write the research reports.
