Enrolment options
This course emphasizes the clinical aspects of toxicology and pharmacokinetics already taught at Level 2&3. Students learn biopharmaceutics, bioavailability and bioequivalence, the use of compartmental models to represent drug concentrations/amounts in plasma and urine. Noncompartmental methods of data analysis are also illustrated for the calculation of volume of distribution and clearance. Basic concepts related to hepatic drug clearance, nonlinear pharmacokinetics and the application of pharmacokinetic principles to clinical therapeutic drug monitoring are also taught.
