BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF AIMS AND CONTENT

1)      To familiarize the student with the historical background to contemporary African politics.

2)      To acquaint the student with a cross-section of academic theories and concepts that are often used to characterize contemporary African politics.

3)      To acquaint the student with the social economic factors that affect contemporary African politics.

4)      To build in the student the habit to contextualize African politics in national, regional, continental and global contexts.
