BIOSTATISTICS, EPIDEMIOLOGY AND RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Semester 2

This module introduces undergraduate students in Health Sciences and Public Health to the basic principles of biostatistics, epidemiology, and research methodology. Students will learn how to analyze and interpret health data, understand disease patterns, and apply research methods to investigate health-related problems. The module also develops skills for critical evaluation of scientific evidence and evidence-based decision-making.

By the end of this module, students should be able to:

  1. Explain basic concepts of biostatistics, epidemiology, and research methodology used in health sciences.

  2. Apply basic statistical and epidemiological methods to summarize and interpret health-related data.

  3. Evaluate health research findings and scientific evidence to support informed decision-making in public and environmental health contexts.
