NUS1253: Fundamentals of nursing

This module prepares the learner to professionally provide care that meets basic health needs of the individual, family and community. It also introduces the learner to the profession of nursing and how to deal with different nursing situations in an ethical manner and within limits of the law. The concepts of wellness and caring are presented as they relate to the individual client needs as well as specific roles of the nurse. The learner will be enabled to act objectively during provision of patient care, to assess and intervene appropriately in case of emergency situations.
