Welcome to the GLG4165 Drilling and Blasting module. The module intends to develop the capability and requisite skills of a mining engineer to build a foundation of knowledge to Understand the principles, concepts, theories and methodologies used in the blasting industry and promote a safe, healthy and environmentally conscious place of work. It deals with the principles of commercial explosives technology and the application of blasting in mining. The planning, design, economic considerations and trends of drilling and blasting practices in the different segments of the mining industry are considered
