Module description and aim

The aim of this module is to equip student with knowledge, skills, and attitude enabling him/her to manage patients with common microbiological and parasitic diseases.

It will help learners to understand the characteristic of microbiological and parasitic diseases and their specific interactions with human body as the basis to recognize the signs, symptoms, and their epidemiological features as well as decide the required diagnostic investigations and management including preventive measures at different levels of health care system. The student will be engaged in laboratory equipment handling and sample processing to equip them with skills required for common microbial and parasitic laboratory investigations
