EPE2161: Strength of Materials
Semester I

The strength of materials is basic engineering subject that must be understood by anyone concerned with the strength and physical performance of structures, whether those structures are man-made or natural. The subject matter includes such fundamental concepts as stresses and strains, deformations and displacements, elasticity and inelasticity, strain energy, and load-carrying capacity. These concepts underlie the design and analysis of a huge variety of mechanical and structural systems.

EPE2162: Introduction to Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics
Semester I

This module has two components that are fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.

Fluid Mechanics helps learners to understand the basic principles of statics and dynamics with simple applications.

Thermodynamics describes the basics concepts of Heat, work and Energy as applied to engineering practices, system and surroundings as well as thermodynamic laws.
