What is your professional experience in the health field?
I have 7 years’ experience in filed including 4 years of academic studies in undergraduate in General nursing, and 3 years of working experience in the same field.
Have you ever participated in a research?
- I contributed in different research, where I worked as field mobilizer, field enumerator, supervisor and I did data entry.
- During my undergraduate studies, I did my thesis (research)
- I participated in training on international scientific research writing in Author research writing which took 6 weeks and Author AID badge was issued for the evidence of completion.
- I completed 8 weeks of Author AID proposal writing and research writing online course.
Can you remind me the definition of Epidemiology?
Epidemiology as definition, is the study of the distribution and determinants of health-related states or events in specified populations, and the application of this study to the control of health problems.
Do you see any usage of your Epidemiology I course during the Covid-19 pandemic?
Yes. Epidemiology is very useful during this Covid-19 pandemic as it helps to:
- 1. Identify the distribution of disease, factors underlying its source and cause, and methods for controlling it.
- 2. It helps to understanding of how political, social and scientific factors intersect to exacerbate its risk.
- 3. It also helps to show the magnitude of covid-19, where by showing measuring its incidence, frequency, mortality rates.
- 4. The incidence also helps to know where to allocate resources for control measures
- 5. It helps to know where (Location) diseases incidence increasing, who (Person) who are affected.
My expectation:
- To know how to Plan and direct studies of public health problems to find ways to prevent and manage them if they arise.
- To know and master how all types of studies including, cross-sectional studies, case-control studies, cohort studies and intervention studies should be applied to specific cases (events)
- To be knowledgeable public health specialist who can be able to intervene in any case study in related field.
