CAE9272: Circular Agribusiness Models

The Circular Agribusiness Models module aims to equip students with the knowledge, analytical skills, and practical tools needed to develop viable agribusiness models that transform waste into resources, extend material value, regenerate natural systems, and generate economic, environmental, social, customer, and informational value. The module integrates systems thinking, stakeholder collaboration, circularity measurement, technological innovation, policy frameworks, design thinking, and circular business planning, with particular attention to Rwanda and other African contexts
CAE9171:Principles of Circular Economy
Semester1

The module aims to develop students’ integrated understanding and practical capacity to support the transition from linear “take-make-dispose” systems to circular and regenerative economies. It examines the historical schools of thought, core principles, implementation strategies, technical and biological material flows, circular design, socio-economic inclusion, common misconceptions, and circular agribusiness models, with particular attention to Rwanda and comparable African contexts.
