BU80241: Entrepreneurship for Educators
Semester 2

You are warmly welcome to the module titled Entrepreneurship for Educators for all year 1 students who undertake CE preprogramme. This module will introduce you to greater understanding of entrepreneurship, entrepreneur, characteristics/qualities of entrepreneur, functions/roles of entrepreneur, type of entrepreneurs and entrepreneur versus manager, role of SMEs to Socio-Economic Development, barriers that hinder entrepreneurship development, contribution of Government to entrepreneurship development, business opportunities for business development in education, factors that influence people to create business, entrepreneurial fundings, business plan and business models to present the business plan, financial literacy,  role of creativity and innovation in business development, and legal forms of business ownership. 

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

1.Explain the concept of entrepreneurship and its relevance to educators.

2.Identify and evaluate entrepreneurial opportunities in education and other sectors.

3.Develop business models and strategies for innovation and growth.

4.Apply project management and marketing principles to entrepreneurial ventures.

5.Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills in addressing business challenges in Education and other domains.

This module aims to give students a strong theoretical and conceptual foundation in organizational leadership and management. It connects theory with practice by exploring real-world aspects such as managerial functions, decision-making, and environmental management. Ultimately, it prepares students to understand and adapt to evolving management trends.
