The module aims to provide an understanding of the physiology and behaviour of animals. It includes the main animal and metabolic phenomena such as locomotion, respiration and gas exchange, circulation, digestion and energy metabolism, osmoregulation and excretion, control and integration and animal behaviour.  


BT80441: Biology Teaching Methods
Semester 2

This module aims to equip students with knowledge, skills, attitude, and values to enable them to implement the Biology Competence based curriculum (CBC) at secondary school competently and confidently. Various themes including the history and nature of science, general problems related to teaching-learning of Biology, aim of teaching-learning Biology, approaches, methods, techniques and resources of teaching Biology, basic principles of teaching and learning Biology, ,Biology lab activities, micro-teaching in Biology and lesson planning (objectives’ formulation, scheme of work, lesson plan and assessment). Also, and contemporary issues in biology teaching and learning are explored.
