This module explains that an Early Childhood Teacher and/or Caregiver, has to establish rapport with other people who are involved in the activities of childcare at home in families. This module therefore explains why the caregiver/teacher needs the involvement and the support of these other people and how he/she can work towards the objective and methods by which to ensure their support and participation in Early Childhood Care and Development. It equips student-teachers with understanding and skills to engage parents and community in the learning of their young children.
This module introduces students to key Philosophies and ideas as advanced by educational philosophers. It also gives ideas on the historical background of how early childhood came into existence and how it evolved.
