Semester 2

The aim of this module is to orient students through the fundamental areas of music theory and harmony which will enable them to improve their performance, aural and analytical skills in music. The content of this module will expand on aspects of melody, harmony, texture, form and musical analysis, aural section of sight-singing, melodic and harmonic dictation, diatonic scales, chromatic scales, triad chords, open chords, introduction to modes and listening models. This module will also introduce students to basic performing skills of  musical instruments: recorder, guitar and piano.
