EN80441: Morphology and Syntax of English
Semester 2

The overall aim of this module is to help students master the English language and its morphological and syntactic structures. Students will learn to determine how prefixes and suffixes modify or change the meanings of words and hence acquire meaning of derived and inflected words as well as improve their reading comprehension and become aware of semantic connections between words and their morphology. They will learn the structure of English phrases and sentences and how sentence structure interacts with other dimensions of linguistic information.
