This module ED80442 introduces to different key concepts used in Early Childhood Inclusion (ECI), Inclusive education framework with golden rules for effective implementation of ECI. It also gives insignhts into methodology for children with various spcial needs and disabilities. The module culminates in a field visit to an inclusive preschool model for observation of real classroom environment and interaction with caregivers and children.
This module aims at providing students with deep understanding of concepts and practices of research, different research approaches and designs, research methods and techniques, writing research proposal, data collection tools and methods, data management and analysis, academic writing, research reporting, and dissemination.
Services and resources required in Special Needs Education for early childhood, Policies and legislation related to the needs of children with disabilities; working with parents and the local community to respond to the needs of children with Special Educational Needs, responding appropriately to children with special educational needs, assessment of SNE in early childhood. Areas of assessment: social interaction, self-esteem and emotional state, motor skills, basic academic skills (pre-reading/reading, pre-writing/writing, pre-numbers/numbers), perception skills, language development and communication skills, adaptive behaviour, the child's interest.
This module aims at teaching the application of the laws and knowledge of mechanics to the anatomical (structural) and physiological (functional) aspects of the human body (biomechanics). First Aid deals with principles of first aid and sporting massage in physical and sport activities area. Exercise Physiology analyses and provides an understanding of the key physiological and metabolic responses to the exercise.
The module aims at providing prospective teachers with basis on which to examine the various theories of educational psychology and human development and their implications for teaching and learning. It encompasses human development, sensation and perception, learning, memory, motivation, emotion, personality, attitude change and classroom management.
Since the University of Rwanda has embarked on the move to adopt the blended learning mode in teaching, learning and assessment approach, there has been seamless effort in order to upload modules on the UR eLearning platform. However , it was observed that there a big change to be done .
This training aims to implement a high profile Instructional Technology Programme that will create a critical mass of educational innovation among UR students.
The fellowship induction Programme will result in tangible improvements in of the usability of all technologies used in learning at the University. The trained students will serve as a benchmark for their classes.

- Examination of contemporary issues in curriculum with a focus on curriculum issues in the Rwandan context.
