CB80361: Principles of Ecology
Semester I

The aim of this module is to provide students with a strong foundation of the principles of ecology.

Having successfully completed the module, students should be able to  demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:

  1. Basic concepts of ecology
  2. Population growth and regulation
  3. Types of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems
  4. Major biome distributions
  5. Structure and function of ecosystems
  6.  Explain basic concepts of ecology
  7. Characterize major ecosystems and Biomes
  8. Search in appropriate databases for literature and information on ecological topic
  9. Discuss an ecological topic in depth for a seminar session
  10. Use basic software  to analyze ecological field data and present scientific information
  11. Lead a group discussion and present a case study or problem in a professional manner
  12. Participate in debates and discussions by contributing with critical, in-depth analyses
