This module gives exposure to students on the theoretical underpinnings on microfinance discipline. It explores various models of microfinance and developmental aspects of microfinance activities at global and local level. Microfinance has been hailed as one of the greatest innovations in attempt to alleviate poverty in the third world in the recent history. Besides, the microfinance industry in the Rwanda is growing so rapidly and therefore many microfinance experts are needed to manage this growth.
